The Directory of Archives and Manuscript Repositories in the St. Louis Area was begun in the 1980s by members of the Association of St. Louis Area Archivists. The purpose of this publication is to bring together in one place the names, contact information for, and descriptions of major repositories in the area. Included are the City of St. Louis, St. Louis County, surrounding counties in Missouri, and nearby counties in Southern Illinois.
