Professional Development Financial Support Award
Many ASLAA members work for small organizations, are volunteers, or are in positions without any financial support for travel, conference registration, or other additional expenses of training. Providing more people the opportunity to attend professional development is a way to strengthen our entire archival community. Award is for attending any training that is related to the archival field, including those requiring travel outside the St. Louis area. Funds can help cover any cost of attending, including registration, child care, or other expense.
Eligibility:
Applicants should be a current ASLAA member (for a minimum of 1 year before applying) who does not receive any extra financial support for travel or professional development from their employer or associated institution. (Receiving paid time to attend is acceptable).Those who apply and are not selected are eligible to re-apply in subsequent years.
Award: up to $500 (check issued by ASLAA Treasurer directly awardee)
Selection Committee: The ASLAA Executive Committee
Application Deadline: Applications are taken on a rolling basis; typically awarded by December 1 and/or June 1.

Administrative policies:
The account balance of ASLAA will be evaluated each year before announcing submission deadlines, and if insufficient to maintain operational expenses, ASLAA officers may elect to suspend the award for that year, and notify the membership of such action.
If no applications are received, no award will be given that year.
ASLAA Officers may contact applicants for additional information or clarification to be used in the selection process.
The ASLAA Professional Development Award was established by a vote of the membership at the Spring 2018 meeting.
ASLAA Archives Achievement Award
The Association of St. Louis Area Archivists aims to recognize those in the archives or history community in St. Louis by presenting them with the ASLAA Archives Achievement Award. The award is presented to an individual who has greatly contributed to the promotion, collection, and use of archival material in the St. Louis area through the years or in a particularly significant way. Recipients are recognized at the Fall ASLAA meeting each year.
Eligibility: Individual archivists in the St. Louis area, including nearby Illinois. Individuals need not be a member of ASLAA. A list of past recipients is below.
Prize: Recognition at the Fall ASLAA meeting and a free membership in ASLAA.

Application Deadline: The application is due December 31 of the Fiscal Year (Jan-Dec)
