Missouri Pacific Historical Society
The purpose of the Missouri Pacific Historical Society (MPHS) Archives is to collect, preserve, and make available items related to the history of the Missouri Pacific Railroad and its predecessor railroads up to and including the merger with Union Pacific Railroad.
The collection focuses on items related to the Missouri Pacific Railroad and its predecessors (Pacific Railroad of Missouri, St. Louis, Iron Mountain and Southern, Texas & Pacific, International Great Northern, Chicago & Eastern Illinois, Alton & Southern, and other predecessors). The timeframe of our collection is 1850’s up to the merger with Union Pacific in 1982. The archives collection contains historical records, timetables, annual reports, maps, diagrams, books, photographs, slides, films, and other items. The collection does contain some small artifacts related to the railroad which tell the story of the railroad (tools, dining car items, advertising items, etc.).
