The Manuscripts Division of WU Special Collections is centered on theModern Literature Collection - 19th and 20th century American and British authors - but also encompasses a number of historical, historical autographs and local/regional collections, most, but not all, of a literary cast. Hotchner, Herbert Howarth, Fannie Hurst, Josephine Johnson, Denise Levertov, Robert Linscott, Shepherd Mead, James Merrill, Marianne Moore, John N. Morris, Howard Nemerov, Stevie Smith, William Jay Smith, Muriel Spark, Radcliffe Squires, May Swenson, Jarvis Thurston, Alexander Trocchi, Constance Urdang, Mona van Duyn, David Wagoner, and others. Bixby Historical Autograph Collection. Meissner Historical Autograph Collection. Ancient and Medieval Manuscripts - psalters, books of hours, cuneiform tablets; also encompasses the Throop Papyri Collection.
