University City Public Library

The records concern University City (chartered in 1906) and its founder,Edward G. Lewis, a businessman, publisher, artist, urban planner, and champion of women's rights. Items pertaining to Lewis include correspondence; scrapbooks; photograph albums; over 1200 original8"X 10" photographs, (1903-1914); and University City Pottery,(ca. 1900- ), 30 examples of pottery plus papers relating to the history of the Arts and Crafts Movement. Items pertaining to the city include scrapbooks, photographs, pamphlets, maps,blueprints, City Council minutes, Board of Education minutes, and newspaper clippings.
